Alethea produced the documentary UNSUNG HEROES which was launched at the COCKATOO ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL in Australia.
UNSUNG HEROES is a story about the men and women that Alethea met on her journey across South Africa whilst photographing her African book with Luca Zordon. The documentary screening was a sell out and all the profits for the night were donated to CYNTHIA TOBIAS - one of the unsung heroes in the documentary. Cynthia takes care of 28 children who live “on the other side of the fence” in small tin shanty houses. Cynthia’s husband had just passed away and she was struggling to feed the children who relied on her. Alethea raised enough funds for Cynthia to not worry about food for her children for 8 years!
Acclaimed Australian actor, Alex Dimitriatis launched the documentary and the Her Excellency the High Commissioner from Republic of South Africa Ms Koleka Mqulwana spoke at the screening.
